Toys are Back! |

Are you a Toy Story fan?? We are!! Woody has a new girlfriend, there's a new
baddy and a host of new characters joining all the old favourites.
"PIXAR has done the impossible, and significantly
improved on their original groundbreaking film Toy Story. Not only is the movie
hysterically funny, but every time I thought I knew where the plot was headed
something completely new and original was thrown into the mix. One minute I'm
laughing hysterically at "Tour Guide" Barbie, the next I'm nearly
brought to tears... What more can be said? You're never too old to enjoy a film
like this which has more to say about friendship, loss, loyalty and the value
of life itself than any of the so-called "grown up" movies I've seen
this year. I rarely do this, but I'm giving it a ten!"
Toy Story won a Golden Globe award for Best Picture
Here are lots of links to Toy Story goodies,

| What about TV? |
| MediaWatch-UK is the renamed
National Viewers' and Listeners' Association founded in the 1960s by Mrs Mary
Whitehouse. |
Commercialisation means
manipulationn - although kids of quite a young age are surprisingly astute and
recognise an ad when they see one.
Set up by Ralph Nader in the US,
Commercial Alert wants to prevent
the commercial culture from exploiting children.
Lots of information and alerts - you can sign up for their newsletter. Discover
why children who watch less TV demand fewer toys!! Read their article on
Why they
whine!. |

Lars,
the Little Polar Bear |
An adventurous and good-hearted
little bear with a kindly mummy and daddy and friends such as brown bear from
foreign lands and the whale who brings him safely back home.
Lovely music and mellow voiceover that never gets on your nerves. Peaceful and
relaxing. |
|

Playdays Animated Alphabet |
We spent nearly every lunchtime
watching this! It took the pressure off feeding time - I didn't mind Michael
watching something educational - after all, he was learning about letter shapes
and having fun at the same time. And it kept my mind occupied and less
concerned about the mess!! Somehow, he ate more and with less fuss as well...
And the constant repetition of music and sounds never became irritating - in
fact, I got quite nostalgic when I listened to it again in order to write this
review! |
