A pressure cooker for the new millenium
What's the difference between a saute pan, a frying pan and a stirfry pan?
|
|
| |
A saute pan has high sides and a completely flat bottom - so you can saute
potatoes! You can brown your ingredients and if you shake them, they will hit
the sides and fall back into the pan.
A frying pan has gently sloping sides which avoids steam building up in the
base of the pan.
If you want to buy
just one, the saute pan will do more for you. This one is 20cm and costs
£34.97 (saving £15 on the rrp).
Buy the heaviest ones you can find. Buy the biggest ones you can find. And buy
anodized aluminum, stainless steel, or porcelain enamel in
preference to non-stick surfaces (such as Teflon). They'll cost you! But
they'll last and help you be a brilliant cook.
This is a
magnificent beast of a saute pan - all 30cm of it. I have
this at home - it cost an arm and a leg and you'll need a strong wrist but it
comes highly recommended!!
